I have a relatively new Officejet Pro 8620 Series (several weeks). I've received the following error message several times "Paper detected does not match paper size selected. Make sure the paper size is correct to continue the job." The most recent was on a fax. I had the person fax it again with the same result. I am using a Mac with operating system OS 10.6. I checked and the fax paper size and it is set to "letter". There is only one tray in the printer but I tried with it set both to tray 1 and automatic with the same results. I downloaded and installed the updated software for the printer with not change. I tried the Fax Test and the report says all the tests "PASS." Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. Calibrating the linefeed fixed my problem.
Calibrate the linefeed:
Use an automated tool to calibrate the linefeed.
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon (). The Setup menu displays.
Swipe the display to scroll to Tools, and then touch Tools.
Touch Calibrate Linefeed.
After the printer prints a test page, touch OK, and then recycle or discard the test page.
Print another Print Quality Diagnostic Page to see if the issue is resolved.

This isn't a solution, HP rep; just so you know this issue is still a problem.
Has anyone figured out a way to print custom sized paper or envelopes? I can't beleive something so simple can't be communicated from MS Word to the printer.
