When trying to print an 11x17(tabloid) using paper tray 2, an error appears saying "paper size detected by the printer in tray 1 does not match the paper size selected (tabloid 11x17) for the print job. Make sure the paper size is correct to print the job. Touch X to cancel."  I've reviewed all of my settings and 11x17 is loaded in tray 2, (8.5x11 is loaded in tray 1) but not being recognized. Is there a way to select the paper tray? Please help!

Hello@cjdonley,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I have read your post and understand that you are unable use 11x17 paper on the printer. I will definitely help you.

I suggest you to try doing a copy only using the 11x17 paper and check if that helps you solve issue.

Also , check if you have changed the paper try  and the paper settings before printing.

Hope that answers your question. Let me know for more.

I have 11x17 paper loaded in paper tray 2 and I have selected my file to print to paper tray 2 using 11x17 paper. The default paper tray is set to tray 2, BUT my file still will not print to paper tray 2. I have "use requested tray First" as a setting. Not sure why it still doesn't print. Please help.

@cjdonley

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand you aren't able to utilize paper tray 2 using the 11x17 paper,

I have a few steps and a link that should help:

  1. Click File, and then click Print.

  2. Select your printer from the Printer drop-down list, if it is not already selected.

  3. Select your paper size from the Paper Size drop-down list.

  4. Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.

    NOTE:

To print a borderless photo or brochure, click on the box next to Edge-to-edge.

  5. Select the paper type that matches the paper loaded in the printer.

For details: Click here

Please download the latest version of the HP easy scan software to utilize all the printer's features on the Mac OS Sierra: Click here (search for your printer).

Let me know how that pans out,

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with your and I hope you have a good day ahead.
