I don't recall there being a chip that caused them to fail if expired, but in some models there could be. Every printer's internal components are different. This model could have been designed not to work with expired ink, but I don't think all model are. It is a possibility, but I don't think there is a chip in them that does that.

Need professional answer from HP!

Nothing wrong with my new ink cartridges.

The Ink Gauge shows that all are more than half full.  The only one that looks a bit lower than half is the Yellow one.

I already clean up the printheads but it has a problem with the aligment. 

However, I don't think that would make the pictures red, would it?

When I print something from the Internet is red but if I print a document from Words or Pages it comes black.

Any suggestions?

PS: I have HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless

(Which it doesn't want to connect wireless to my MAC so I'm using the cable : )

Hi there, if you're still having issues with the quality of your print outs, review the information on this support document and follow the steps in the order they are listed to resolve the problem.
