I have exactly the same problem. The message keeps flashing and I find myself unable to scan every so often.

Hi karstenp,

Have you checked to see if the scan to computer is enabled in the Solution Center?

Can you scan from the Solution Center software?

HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems: The HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP recommends that you download and install the Print and Scan Doctor any time you need to troubleshoot a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

Let me know what errors you receive?

The scan to computer is enabled
I can scan from the Solution Center software
The diagnosing tool returned no errors
The message box Scan to Computer is Currently Unavailable keeps popping up every so often
I can scan to the computer when I do not get the message, so the feature works off and on

Hi karstenp,

Sounds like you are having a issue with communication with the router. Temporarily move the printer next to the router if possible, and let me know if you continue to see the issue?

When the scan message box pops up there is no way that I can print from laptop to the printer. But I can go to the printer on-board screen and print a report of copy something but cannot communicate with the lap top. Printer is off-line and a "?" marks in shown on printer status.

The next time the scanner goes off line, I'll do that. As I said before it goes down and out of the blue much later when not trying to scan or print anything its comes back on line. When I shut down my laptop earlier this afternoon the scan function was working.

I now have the router and computer next to eachother, but still the message "Scan to Computer is Currently Unavailable" pop up quite frequently.

Hi karstenp,

Open Solution Center, and then disable and reenable the scan to computer. Let me know if you are successful with getting it reenabled?
