Having the same issue here on HP 7520. I've went through all troubleshooting steps listed throughout the 33 pages of this and don't understand why the solution has to be sent to private box... why can't it just be posted here. Anywho.... can you please send me the fix for this? It is driving me crazy!

As I mentioned in an earlier message, downloading HPPrinterDriver2.16.1 from the Apple site and installing it on my iMac solved the problem - of not being able to scan to computer from the 7520 - that had resisted all other solutions suggested. (My iMac is still on OS 10.6.8 because of the work I need to do to save old material I wouldn't be able to open after updating to OS 7+, but the Apple update for HP drivers being quite recent it should also apply to 10.7 or higher, and in any case there's no harm in trying the idea).

My problem was not being able to scan from the 7520 to COMPUTER, rather than not being able to scan to EMAIL.
Still, some time ago I found on the HP Forum the following from Garytech1, Regius Professor, which may help people struggling with the scan-to-email trouble.

I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would try again to complete scan. If unsuccessful then complete steps below. Let me know how it goes.
1. Obtain your printer's IP address
a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
4. On the left select networking.
5. Select Network Address (IP)
6. Select Manual DNS Server
a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
IF THIS DOESN'T WORK:
It's worth finding out from HP whether there's a problem on their servers affecting users' scan to email where you are, the reason given me by HP when I reported late last month (November 2013) not being ale to scan to email either, with notification received from EPRINT_EMEA_EN@MAIL.SUPPORT.HP.COM on 5 December that they'd solved it at their end.

Please send me the same private instructions. I have an HP 8600. Scanning worked fine. Then we moved and I can print but cannot scan. I get the error message that it can't connect to the network. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works. How can it connect to print but not to scan? Please help.
