I absolutely hate this printer. Mine won't start at all. I can't wait to get it back to the shop. I am diefintely NEVER buying
HP again.
PS. I called their Support line in Switzerland, they were completely useless.
Shame on you HP!

When I upgraded to Snow Leopard I had a problem with my printer so I contacted HP support. I have to tell you they stayed in touch with me constantly until the problem was solved. I can honestly say I was totally amazed at the high level of customer support. Thank you HP.

HP C4580, MacBook Pro - Mac OSX 10.5.8
I have followed the steps provided also, but the problem isn't being resolved. My firmware update never seems to complete. It gets about halfway through, and keeps spinning - but never completes the update.
I'm beginning to think HP printers don't operate well with Mac's.
This is the same printer that continues to remain in 'idle' mode. If I'm lucky, a quick unplug with each printing attempt will fix the problem, but it hasn't lately. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled the software and have been trying to the same with the firmware, but it won't load.
So I just can't print...frustrating.
