Running Bittorrent Sync on a home server crashes my Photosmart Plus B210a within 5 minutes of starting the service.  My printer's buttons flash and the touchscreen displays the message "Printer Error.  Please turn printer Off and then On."  Turning the printer off and then on only allows it to crash again 5 minutes later.  I have looked at the printer's event logs and see a couple possible culprits:

ID     Event     Description

56     69552       Printer Event

55     69666       Firmware Error

53     69552       Printer Event

Event 69552 is particularly suspicious.  Unfortunately repeated Google searching and scouring of the HP Support forums only turn up unanswered questions on this topic.  Is there no HP support monitoring these forums who can provide decriptions of event logs?

I've been having the same problem since recently updating BTSync.  Fortunately, I just found a solution for my printer (HP B209A-M)...  I went to my printer's configuration website (ex. 192.168.1.xxx) and went to Networking>UPnP>Disable UPnP.  This seemed to keep my printer from crashing!  Let me know if this works for you.

THAT'S IT!

Eric, you're a genius!  Thanks for posting.  Turning off UPnP on my printer fixed the issue for me.  I can now leave BT Sync running AND leave my printer on.  Modern Miracles.

Thanks very much.
