Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw

Hello.

I have just installed my printer and connected it to the network and it has starting printing pages random looking letters and symbols and blank pages.

There is nothing to cancel when I look up the queued jobs, and if I cancel it via the screen on the printer it just starts again.  I have restarted the printer, but that hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?  It's printed on tens of now useless paper.

Thanks you.

Hello, @STPOARMES – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are experiencing printer related issues. I will certainly do my best to help you!

Going through your post, it looks like an issue with the print drivers. To assist you better I need to know the operating system on your PC. Please reply with the details.

Assuming you are using the Windows OS, try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click http://hp.care/2psbT2D to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

If you are using the MAC OS X, then try the steps below:

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂

Hello DVortex,

Thank you for your help.  I followed the steps you gave me but the problem is persisting.

I couldn't follow the link you gave me as it lead to a blank page (I'm in the UK so maybe that's why?) so I went to the software page of the website and downloaded the appropriate software that way.

I'm going to give customer support a call I think as I desperatly need to be able to use my printer.

Thanks again.
