Hi sorry cannot help as I just can't remember what I did I only know that none of the above suggestions were any good in my case.  I am sorry not to have been more help.  I just kept fiddling!!!!!!  I know how frustrating it is and the number of times I uninstalled and reinstalled was amazing and very time consuming.  I wish you luck.  I normally write down my "cures" for posterity but somehow this missed out.

Hi

I've been worrying over this and at last I remember what I did.  Have you looked at, and followed through the following

HP Printers - 'User Intervention Required' Error When Printing (Windows)

I had tried it until Step 7 when I took fright.  However I tried it again in despair and followed the instructions to the end and lo and behold it has worked ever since.
