Hp Deskjet 3050a J611 series p

This problem has started to happen and its really frustrating.

My printer used to be on all the time, and whether i was printing from my phone, laptop, tablet or pc it would print everytime without fail.  I have tried to solve this problem myself with no joy and after calling hp today as the last desperate measure i did not want to spend £18.50 to talk to someone about it, outragious!!

so i tried to download diagnostics nothing found.

reset original settings on printer

updated i.p address

updated software on pc

nothing is working

It will only work when i turn it off, then turn it back on and then only for a couple of minutes.

computer says its offline.

im all out of ideas, anyone? please xx

Hi again eek15,

Thank you so much for getting back to me with the computer information.

I do have a few suggestions that we can try.

First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

Once you have the printer connected to a wall outlet, please use the ON/OFF button to do a proper power cycle.  This will do  a Semi Power Reset on the printer.

The next step to take is to follow the steps in the document that deals with the 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Windows 7.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, : click here.

Thanks once again for your time.

Cheers,  Smiley Very Happy
