The printhead was dismounted to be cleaned and flushed because of clogging on color printheads. It was  flushed with distilled water and dryed throughly. When installed back in the printer a printer cleaning proccess started and then an error came up which says "Printer Failure" on top,  and below it says there is a printer or ink system problem. Does it mean this is a printhead irreversible damage? is there any way to diagnose this issue?

Thanks!

@AYUSO

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. I understand that you are getting ink system failure error message and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Reset the printer.
  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Clean the ink cartridges, and then check the error message.
  • Update the printer firmware.
  • Clean the printhead with an automated tool.
  • Inspect the carriage path.
  • Reseat the printhead up to three times.

Click here and follow the document to perform above mentioned troubleshooting steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

Hi Sandy, none of the sugestions resolve the problem. The printer shows the error after turning on right after the Hp logo appears and some movement on the printhead occurs. Is there any service menu we can access to diagnose failure?
