Photosmart 5510

Since a couple of weeks, my printer has been showing a pink haze over documents it scans or copies. If I order it to print a document from my computer, everything works fine, so the printing mechanism itself isn't to blame. I also noticed that the scanning device itself is emitting the pink light itself, while, if I remeber correctly, it normally gives off a white light while scanning. What is the problem here and how can I fix it??

Hey @Evelyne123,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that your Photosmart 5510 e-All-In-One Printer is copying and scanning in pink. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once that is done we'll do the following:

  1. While the printer is turned on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer for one minute.
  2. When the printer is turned on again try to copy again.

At this point if you are still seeing things in pink then the last thing to try is a factory reset. I will provide the directions in a private message I will send shortly. If you are still seeing pink afterwards then the printer would need to be replaced. You can contact HP support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom to discuss options based on your warranty.

Please let me know if this corrects the pink issue or if you have any other questions. Otherwise, have a great weekend!
