When I tried to print a photo, the "print photo", "remove redeye" and "power" buttons and "wireless network" indicator began to flash.  I cancelled the print job and tried to turn off the printer.  When I push the power buton the initial screen appears for about ten seconds and C2FE0162 (I think ) flashes twices for less than one second followed by the screen turning white and the lights flashing again.  I have tried disconnecting cables, etc. but can't get the printer to turn off or reset.  Help?

Hi Frank_Ru,

I understand you have an HP printer that keeps giving you flashing lights and won't respond to anything currently. I'm sorry to hear this, but will do my best to assist you after gathering a bit more information Smiley Happy

1. Which model of HP printer are you working with?

2. Is the printer plugged directly to a wall outlet?

3. Have you tried pulling the power cord for a few minutes and plugging it back in?

I look forward to hearing back from you, have a great day!!

Dear Miss TerriLynn,

My printer is an HP Photosmart Model 6380 All-In-One.

It has been plugged in to an outlet strip for the past four years, and I have never had any problems.  I tried unplugging both ends of the power cord as sugggested on the HP troubleshooting page but had no success.  However, based on your questions, I tried plugging the printer directly in to a wall outlet, and the printer came back to life.

It appears to be working perfectly now.

Your reply was very helpful.  Thank you very much!

     Kudos and thumbs up!!!

I have a HP Office Jet Pro L7680 that will not turn off. I followed all the suggestions on the HP supoort web site.

Nothing worked.

I had 2 print jobs that showed it was printing but it did not print.  I finally deleted these and now I just have a blnking power light that won't turn off even though the screen says shutting down.

I even went to the Apple store but they said they had no ideas for me.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi GrammyRuby,

I'm sorry to hear you've been having similar issues with your Officejet Pro L7680.

Have you tried the steps in my previous post? Often pulling the power cord and ensuring the printer is plugged to a wall outlet can resolve power issues such as this.

Let me know how that goes!

HI Miss TeriLynn,

Yes.  I tried your steps regarding the power cord.  Did not work. Any other suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi GrammyRuby,

Are you saying unplugging the printer didn't turn it off?

Or do you mean once it's back on you cannot turn it off again?

It's possible the printer is on it's way out the door, so I'd suggest following this Performing a Partial Reset of the All-in-One
document. You'll want to follow the steps under HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a) All-in-One Printer.

If the printer still won't power off properly after this and it's not something you can work with, please call HP Tech Support and inquire about the trade in and trade up program.

Hope this helps, have a great day!!

I tried the partial reset. Did not work.

Now my printer is showing aligning printer, but nothing happens. When I press ok, it says BUSY.

I think I might need to buy a new printer.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
