Hi @quadmania,

Thanks for stopping by the HP forums. Good day! 🙂 I reviewed the post about printing in black or grayscale from your printer. It will be a delight to assist you here. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better let me gather some information here.

·         Did you try to check printing preferences to see if you could change them to print in grayscale?

For starters please try the steps mentioned in this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-Pro-8600-e-All-in-One-Printer-series---N9/4322916/m...  and follow the steps mentioned in the option “Print only black for all your print jobs” This should do the trick for you.

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll always be there to assist you always. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
