Every atttempt to print something, online or off, results in the document being printed super small in upper left corner of paper. It has annoyed me so much I feel like tossing this printer out the window. The settings available in the optins boxes do not affect it still printing super small in top left corner.
HELP this printer avoid the dumpster, because that's its new home if I cannot get this figured out.

Hi @dave_freeman,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your printing is super small in upper left corner of paper, when using your HP Deskjet 2542. I am happy to help!
If you try to print a test page, Printing a Test Page - HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer. What happens? Does the paper go through at all? Does it come out blank? Are there any colors visible or missing on the page?
In the meantime, please try the following steps:
- Make sure the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
- Firmware update. HP Deskjet 2540 series Firmware Update.
Hope to hear from you soon!
