My printer is printing slightly off center (starting too far to the right). I did the alignment test and attempted to fix the problem by adjusting print to several mm to left, but it is not working. I am trying to print labels with graphics that contain a circle border- because the page is being printed off center none of the labels look good. I'm printing on sticker label paper and have used several different label programs to print from and all have the same resulf of being off centered. Any suggestions? Help would be very much appreciated!

Hey @OldSoulA,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing a quality issue when printing labels from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw. I would like to assist you today with resolving this label printing issue. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps that you have attempted prior to reaching out for support. At this point I am going to have you ensure that the labels that you're printing on are within the specifications of your HP Laserjet. Once you confirm that the labels that you're using are supported we will run some tests to verify if this off centered issue is being caused by the paper type or a setting issue. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Check Paper:
According to the specifications for your HP Laserjet, the following labels are supported:
- You can load up to 50 sheets of labels in the paper tray at 1 time. Do not exceed 50 sheets
- Avoid mixing media in the paper tray. Avoid loading labels on top of plain white paper in your paper tray
- Avoid using labels that are separated from the backing sheet, wrinkled, or damaged in any way
- Avoid using labels that have the backing sheet exposed
- Do not feed a sheet of labels through the printer more than once
- Avoid printing on both sides of labels
- Avoid printing on sheets from which labels have been removed
- Ensure that you are using Laser-specific labels as adhesive can damage the internal components within your machine.
Once you have confirmed that the label paper that you're using is within the specifications of your printer can you please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Test Printing Standalone:
- Load plain white paper in your paper tray
- On the front panel of your printer swipe your finger left and touch Setup
- Under the Setup menu touch Service
- Touch Cleaning Page
- A Cleaning Page will now print. This page should show centered coloured lines
Check the alignment of this report.
- Do the coloured lines appear centered?
- Does printing documents from your computer on plain white paper print centered?
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting so far. Once I have the results of your troubleshooting and the answers to my questions above I will be more than happy to provide additional assistance to resolve this issue. I look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
