HP Officejet Pro 8600

What paper quality media settings, document options/printer features and print quality settings may work best when trying to print decals on waterslide decal paper?  The print image color I'm trying to do is only black.  It seems to place a large amount of black ink on the decal paper.  As the ink dries it develops cracks.

Hello J_B-,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

The reason why you are getting a large amount of ink on the paper is simply because this printer does NOT support the use of decal paper.  If this is the type of printing that you are going to be doing on a regular basis, I suggest maybe looking into a Designjet printer model.

Just so you can see what all the supported media is on the Officejet printer, here is the link to the Product Specifications page.

Thanks for your time.

One thing I did try was to select glossy photo paper, thinking it would be similar to decal paper.  That's where so much ink was placed on the paper.  But I know better now.

Thanks.
