The reset did not work still lots of clicking noises and then it is stuck in the initializing step.  It is brand new and under warenty.

I too am having this issue. This printer has been printing fine for months, and now will not initialize. I have already tried the reset via unplugging the device and then making sure it was plugged directly into the wall, with no change. I was able to manually move the toner carousel and remove the toner cartridges. However, even triying to start the printer up without any toner installed in it at all it still will not move past the initializing stage. I do not hear any grinding coming from the device as others have noticed, however it does seem that the carousel DOES rotate properly - upon putting the toner cartridges back into the printer and making sure that I noted which color was facing the top (magenta), I tried to reset it again and afterwards a different cartridge was on top (yellow). I'm not sure at this point what the problem could be, as my issue seems to be a little different than what others in this thread have experienced.

I too would like these extra reset steps sent to me via PM, please.

Sorry to hear the reset didn't help resolve the issue Pbatkins.

The clicking noises seem odd, I would remove the toner. Power reset the printer and then install the toner again, to see if that makes a difference. Make sure all the packing material is removed from the toner and the inside of the printer.

I have the same issue.  I have tried the power plug reset and that hasn't helped.  Could I get the "private" fix please?  I am desperate.  Have spent my morning trying to get past the initializing.  The carousel turns, I can remove the cartridges, and there is no error message on the screen other than that it is moving <color> to the front.

I am having the same issues. When I turn it on it makes this loud noise and then is stuck in the initializing screen. Please help!

Hello Nanny8 & lgoldin,

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't notified by email until today.

What happened prior to this error message? (paper jam, changed a toner)

Disconnect USB/Network/FAX and power on Standalone unit.

Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner.

Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.

Update the printer's firmware. Software & Drivers.

I can send a private message with some another step to try.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

Please let me know the outcome.

Have a great day!
Thank You.

I too am having this issue with my printer! After removing all the toners, nothing seems to be wrong with them and I have power cycled it many times. Other than that, the same thing is happening where it'll stop rotating them with the yellow on top and then will be stuck initializing. I don't think that the printer recoginizes the toners because when you go into the supplies menu there are question marks next to all the colors. Please help!

I have the same problem, but repeating the steps many, many times gets the printer back to "normal".  Within a day, however, for no apparent reason the problem recurs.

I was hoping to receive a private message to tell me how to reset the printer.

Thanks for your help.
