I have problem with printing to a M1120n MFP Printer over the network. Problem is on Windows 8 64bit and Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit. On Windows 7 64 bit users are printing without any problem. When I install current driver for Windows 8, test page is print successfully (but windows show blue error message, that page cannot be printed) and job queue is blank. When performing restart of machine, printer does not even print the page and job stay in queue. I have tried diagnostic tool from HP, but it is useless in this case, because it cannot find any problem. Can please someone help me with this problem? Thank you.

Hi,

For Windows Server 2008, the printer is not compatible with the operating system, it only compatible with Windows Server 2003:

For Windows 8, have you installed the following driver?

Hi,

thank you for your response. Yes, this is exactly the driver what have I installed. Only with cs language ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=cs&cc=cz&dlc=cs&sw_lang=&product=3447...) I was looking for native network driver installation, but cannot find any. I will be glad for any other suggestions.

Hi,

Try adding the printer manually and not through the system and not through the installer, as well ensure your network is not configured as a Guest Network and allow accessing network resources:

To ensure your sharing options follow the steps below:

Click the Netowrk or Wireless icon on the System Tray,

Right click your network name and click on Turn sharing on or off.

click on Yes, turn on sharing and connect to devices.

Next follow the steps below to add the printer manually

  1. go to Control Panel > View Devices and Printers.
  2. Remove any instance of the M1120 by right clicking it and selecting Remove Device.
  3. click on Add a Printer.
  4. Press on The printer that I want isn't listed.
  5. select Add a local printer or a network printer with manual settings.
  6. Select the Standard TCP/IP port with the pritner's IP address if a such exists, otherwise create a new Standard TCP/IP port and provide the IP address, then click on Next.
Note: You may print a Config Report to locate the IP address

  7. Click the Have Disk button, then click on Browse,  navigate to C:\Program Files\HP\HP Laserjet M1120 MFP Series.
  8. Click on Open and follow the wizard till it finishes.

Once you are done, try printing using the newly created printer queue.

If the issue persists please clarify what security programs (both anti virus and firewalls) you have installed on your PC.

I try this solution, but doesn't work!

Any new idea?

I will try to help but I also need to know what anti-virus software and firewall you are using.  What is the printer's IP address?  When you tried the above suggestion, what port is the Printer Properties saying it is on? Is it a standard tcp/ip port?

Answer those questions for me please and try the HP Print and Scan Dr and let me know what it says as well.

Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
