When printing envelopes you need to ensure that you have the paper type set to envelope. This reduces print speed and increases heat to ensure complete bonding.

Thanks for your reply.

As you will see from my initial post I had set the paper type to envelope in MS-Word when the problem occurs.

On checking the printer I noticed that  the media type was not set to envelope for the manual feed tray. Perhaps this is the issue. I'll check and report back the next time I need to print an envelope.

Thanks for your help, which solved the problem!

I was mislead by the printer setup menu as I don't think of an envelope as a "paper type".

Compounding the issue the paper size was set to envelope #10, so I thought this setting coupled as "recycled" as the paper type work work.

I wonder how many other people are misled by this?

As soon as I set the paper type of envelope it worked, and I noticed the slower printing speed.

Cheers

Freddy
