Is there a way to command print jobs to a USB connected HP LaserJet 1022 through an Android tablet (ASUS Fonepad 8)? None of the applications, I downloaded through the Play Store, were able to recognise the aforementioned printer until now. While the Windows devices are able to do the same job, the Android ones refuse to do so. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Hi @proaudience,
Thanks for getting back to me and for confirming which LaserJet you're referring to.
Knowing you have that version of the 1022, I can answer your question with confidence. As this particular printer has no network (wireless, wireless direct, wired) capabilities, there's no way you can print directly from an Android smartphone with the 1022. So even more succinctly - the printer isn't directly compatible with any smartphone or tablet. The Google Cloud Print Classic Printer setup method that I alluded to before might work, but it's not a true ePrint or wireless print job. If you're interested in trying this out, click here for instructions.
I hope this helps.

Hey @proaudience,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum. I hope you enjoy your experience here. :robothappy:
I understand you're looking to print from an Android device with your HP LaserJet 1022 Printer. I would like to help.
From what you're describing, you've done all the right steps as far as getting ready to print. The only problem here is that your printer does not support ePrint, AirPrint or the Android print solution through a direct usb connection to the tablet you're working with. From what I have researched, there are three LaserJet 1022 models. Which one do you have?
Your answer will definitely determine whether or not you can use your printer with the Android tablet as the models have varying degrees of network functionality. At the very least, regardless of model, you can use the printer via the classic printer setup on Google Cloud Print, but this will require a Mac or a PC to run the setup. Click here for more information on how to use this feature.
Let me know which LaserJet 1022 you have and I'll provide you with Android printing options that apply to your printer's particular specs. Please reply at your leisure.
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum and have a great day!

Hello E-roq,
Thanks for your detailed answer. I happened to personally examine the printer again this evening at my niece's place, who got it gifted from one of my elder bros, and it simply reads "HP LaserJet 1022" on its front panel.
As regards to the cloud printing aspect, let me inform you that the printer has been carrying out its print jobs through a couple of Windows operated desktop PCs, so that won't be a difficult job at all. However, my intention behind this thread is somewhat academic in nature, and also to ascertain whether it was possible to run an HP LaserJet 1022 printer though an Android device or simply not.
Look forward to your further response in this regard.
