I have the exact same problem describe by this user, but with an officejet 4500. I tried going to the link but it says page not found.

Hey @colie2, welcome to the HP Forums! 

 

I am unable to find a replacement link for that you're referring too, I searched the document number c03112838 with no luck, but I'm confident I can help. I understand you are seeing a no filtering failed message which indicates that the routers has hardware address filtering enabled. 

 

Each elctronic device has what is called a hardware address also known as a MAC address. Routers have a setting (filtering) that blocks some devices from connecting. The no filtering - failed means that the router is filtering. Each time you "unplug the router enter the wireless info, get a connection, then plug the AT&T unit back in" you kinda trick the router.

 

We need to turn the filtering off. Sometimes the strangest thing happens, filtering is off but yet it blocks the printer as if it were on, in this cause we need to turn filtering on, add the printer hardware address as an allowable device, and then turn the filtering back off.

 

You can either call the router provider or you can make these changes on your own if you are familiar with your routers Embedded web Server. Making these changes is out of my scope, but if you need assistance I would be happy to try to help. I am certain this will resolve the issue. If you would like me to try to help with the router settings please provide me with your router model number and I will see what I can do. If you can take care of this on your own, you can find the printer hardware address on the network configuration page.

 

Either way, I hope to hear back from you, if you contact the router company or you modify the settings on your own please let me know if it does resolve the issue. Thanks.
