Hi, I have a Photosmart 5520 which worked great until I had to change my BT Hub. Now it does not see my network even though I have reconfig the new Hub with the same SSID.
The Wireless light keeps flashing and the setup wizard states I am not connected. When I search for a network the printer does not see any. I am running Windows 7.

Hey @PhilipR,
I understand that you're having issues reconfiguring the wireless on your HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One Printer since installing a new hub. I would like to assist you with this today. Keep in mind that because this is a consumer home and home office Photosmart printer it is not guaranteed to work with switches and hubs. Now I'm not saying that the printer will not work, but you may run into some connection conflicts with this setup. Because you installed a new hub, even though it is broadcasting the same Network Name SSID, your printer will need to be reconfigured. To reconfigure your printer on your network please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Run the Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Select the Setup (wrench) button on the top left hand corner of your printer touchscreen
- Tap the right arrow button until you see Wireless
- Touch Wireless to access the Wireless menu
- Right arrow to select Restore Network Defaults.
- Next, right arrow to the Wireless Setup Wizard and select it.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to reconfigure your wireless. Select your Network Name SSID and when prompted enter your case sensitive WEP or WPA password.
- Ensure that the status shows as Connected before proceeding.
If the printer connects: on your computer click on the HP Printer Assistant on the desktop of your computer. Select the Utility option at the top. Next, click on Update IP. Type in the new IP Address that displays on your printer under the Wireless menu. Now you should be able to print again.
If the printer fails to connect: please follow the steps below to powercycle your network.
Step 2: Powercycle the Network:
1. First, unplug the power cable to your Router and any hubs or switches.
2. Once your Router is unplugged, turn off your printer
3. Next, shut down your computer
4. After 30 seconds to 1 minutes, plug your Router back in
5. Next, turn on your printer
6. Turn on the computer
After a few minutes the network connection should return. Check on your computer and ensure that you are able to browse to websites before proceeding.
Once the internet is up and running again please follow the steps above to rerun the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Please let me know if the steps I've provided resolve your connectivity issues. Good luck! 🙂
