LaserJet Pro 200 Color
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP m276nw at my work. The other day I noticed a black vertical line appearing on my scans using the ADF. I cleaned the ADF section of the flatbed and the black line was gone. However, now there is a red light on the ADF and now my scans have a bright red line on them when I use the ADF. No red line when using the flatbed to scan... Help!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 printer and initially a back vertical line appeared on the scans while using the ADF. You cleaned the ADF and the line was gone. However, there is a red light on the ADF and due to this, the scans have a bright red line when scanned from the ADF. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Have you tried to make a copy from the ADF and checked the output?

Meanwhile, I did some research and suggest you to perform the following steps:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then please perform "Step 3: Clean the automatic document feeder (ADF) rollers" from this link

If the red light on the ADF continues to appear then please perform a reset on the printer. Please view my private message to reset the printer.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
