Hi @LindaM1045,
I see you are looking for a way to change the IP address on the printer, and I think I can help you with this.
The printer should be getting assigned an IP address from your router, unless you have setup and assigned a static IP address. To clear out all of the settings on your printer;
Restore Network Defaults - to release any saved network information:
1. From the Home screen on the printer display, touch the Wireless icon ()
2. On the Wireless menu, touch Settings and then touch Restore Network Defaults (should be the last option)
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to delete the settings
Wireless Setup Wizard - to add the printer back onto the network:
1. From the Home screen on the printer display, touch the Wireless icon ()
2. On the Wireless menu, touch Settings and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to change the network settings
Note: If your printer and computer still have different IP addresses, make sure they are connected to same SSID (network name) - you want to make sure you aren't connecting one of them to a guest network.
If they are both connected to the same network name, I would refresh your network connection. Power cycling your router allows it to reestablish a fresh connection to all of your devices. Here's how to power cycle your network if you are unsure:
1) Unplug the power cable from your wireless router (NOTE: Do not reset the router)
2) Do the same for the printer
3) Shut down the computer
4) First plug the router back in, and wait for it to fully power up
5) Then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid.
6) Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on
Can you tell me what version of operating system you are working with? Macintosh or Windows?
If you are still having trouble, you can review the steps in this document for your operating system;
- 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Windows 7
- 'Offline' Printer Status Message Displays (Windows 😎
- 'Printer Offline' or 'Printer Not Responding' Message (OS X)
Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
