Hi genom,

Sorry I misunderstood what you were trying to do. You said that the printer changed settings. I need to know what was changed on the printer? What settings where changed? Was it the language settings?

Please let me know.

Thank you,

Hey, so I was having the same problem with E and all the lights blinking. So I tried your suggestion to reset the printer by press/holding Power and Resume. Well, now the problem is that only the power light is blinking, with no other lights on. Computer doesn't recognize it by USB either, and I already tried unplugging it for a while. What do?

Hi Repaxan,

I understand you have resolved the issue you were having with the E on the display.  Use the following document to troubleshoot the blinking lights you are now experiencing. > Click here to resolve Blinking Lights.

Feel free to let me know the outcome of your troubleshooting. I am happy to provide additional assistance.

You have not read my post correctly, the issue I was having is that the power button, and only the power button, is flashing. There is no other light flashing. That issue is *not* on the list.

You are right Repaxan, I misread your post, my apologizes.

I understand now, the power light is blinking but the other lights are not on, and the computer does not recognize the printer via the USB cable.

Let's remove the cartridges, close the access door, leave the printer on and unplug the power cable. Leave the power unplugged for a minute, plug it back in and install the cartridges again. Let me know what happens at this point.

Hello HP crew.

I have a HP F4180 printer and I have a problem.

Every time that I turn on the printer I need to reset the printer.

Otherwise the printer doesn't show up in my Mac in "Printers and Scanners". The same occurs if I use the printer connected to my Time Capsule. The printer doesn't show up until I reset to factory settings, and I need to do this every time that I turn the printer on.

Is there other way to reset the printer? Can I do anything else so I don't have to reset the printer every time that I turn it on?

Hi Sunshyn,

I followed the information you provided to Repaxan as I have the same problem with the printer.  ONLY the power light is flashing.  I can't get it to even start.  I just installed and opened the printer.  Can you help please?  This printer has never been used.
