hp 3636
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Scan dialog does not open. I tried everything, uninstalled and re installed the software and drivers many times conected trought USB or wifi. I can print and even copy using the scanner but I cannot use the scan dialog. I was getting a window saying "hp scan not found" but know I am getting the hp scan loading image and never ends to load the dialog. I already ran the Hp doctor, I already ran HP support assistant, I already changed manually IP of the printer, I already reseted my router, I have already check my firewall  and ton of other stuff that I dont remember but didn't worked.

I have a hp 3636 all-in-one. Windows 10 (64bit).

Hi @leosm1987,

Thanks for reaching out!  A very good day to you. 🙂 This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I understand that you have issues with the scan feature of the printer. I will be a delight to assist you. 🙂

A commendable job was done by attempting it before posting your question in the HP forums. It is always a great pleasure to work with technically competent customers like you. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 Superb and stupendous troubleshooting as well. Brilliant effort. 🙂

We definitely value your relationship with HP tremendously. We appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

First off we need to ensure that we perform a root level installation.

First, uninstall the printer by following these steps:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.

Then install the full feature software for the printer from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/HP-DeskJet-Ink-Advantage-3630-All-in-One-P... and try again.

Please update the printer firmware from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-DeskJet-Ink-Advantage-3630-All-in-One-Printer-ser...

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.:)

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
