Scanjet Pro 3000 s2
Linux

Hi,

the product page says that linux drivers for the Scanjet Pro 3000 s2 are available:

Seamlessly add the HP Scanjet Professional 3000 s2 to existing customized solutions through TWAIN, ISIS, WIA, Linux, and Mac drivers.

But the specification only list support for Windows and Mac OS X. Same for the driver download page.

Does this device work with linux? If yes, which architectures are supported?

Thanks

Indeed HP is the main contributor to HPLIP, but HPLIP does not provide any drivers for Scanjet scanners:

As I can see in the thread the poster has got some drivers from HP by contacting through the discussion list, I suggest trying the same and check if you may got any reply, this is a peer to peer forum and not a direct contact with HP..

You may subscribe and send a mail to the sane-deve list, it seems to me as the one intended for a such:

Hope that may help,

Hi,

Any Linux support is not provided from the HP site, for Scanjet scanners drivers are provided by Sane Project, however I cannot see the HP Scanjet 3000 as supported:

http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-HEWLETT-PACKARD

The included information seems wrog as no Linux support avaialble for the HP Scanjet Professional 3000 s2 .

Regards,

Shlomi

But it seems like HP is the main contributor to HPLIP which supports a whole bunch of devices (but not the one I have).

In addition, there are some rumors that such a driver exists and it is handed out on request: http://sane.10972.n7.nabble.com/HP-Scanjet-3000-td17494.html

But there are no hints where to ask...
