I am trying to scan to email, and when the 1 page document is fed through I get a message saying "document feeder was not able to pick up on the origional.  Load orignal into document feeder and try again. "

I find it odd to have such a message right after the document is fed through.  I have tried to scan directly using the glass but there is no option for this.  As soon as I press the scan button it goes direcly to "source, automatic feeder".  HELP!

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are “document feeder was not able to pick up on the original” on HP Officejet 8710 printer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

  • Check the paper pick roller position.
  • Check the paper, and then reload it.
  • Clean the ADF rollers and the separator pad.
  • Reset the printer.

Click here and follow the document to perform above steps.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.
