I have just bought a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 283fdw.

 

I am trying to use the control panel on the printer to send a pdf directly to my computer (rather than using the HP Smart software on my computer).  However, under the "scan to computer" option on the printer control panel, it only scans it as a jpeg rather than pdf.  Is there any way to scan directly from the printer as a pdf using the control panel?

 

Also, can the above also be done through the automatic document feeder?
