I have an HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z. I am currently on wireless, and able to print with no problem. However, when I try to scan, the screen says "NO Scan Options. Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot". The devise documentation has nothing on scanning issues and when I use the Help function on the printer it is telling me there is "No computer connection". I have the wireless all set up and working. Please help! Thank you!

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

If not you may need to reinstall the full featured driver.  What is your operating system?

Hi help911,

I can help you enable the scan from printer function. Are you using a Mac or a Windows operating system, and which version do you have?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Good morning help911,

You should have something called Solution Center on your desktop that we can use to manage the printer settings. Try the following steps,

1. Open Solution center

2. Click on settings at the bottom.

3. put your cursor over 'scan settings'

4. Select 'scan to... settings'

This should give you the opportunity to enable scan to computer.  If this does not resolve the issue run the Print and Scan Doctor

The Print and Scan Dr was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP.  Click here to download and run the utility > HP Print and Scan Doctor

Hope this helps!     🙂

Hello TheAnth.

I understand you are unable to scan with your printer, but I do need to find out what printer model you have. Please click here so I can find out this information: Model Number.

I have a excellent HP document that should fix your issue. Please click here: No Scan Options.

Please inform me if you this resolved your issue or if you have any other question.

Hi Cheetah12,

I've just solved my problem. It was a HP drivers update problem. Now my scan device is working perfectly 🙂

Thanks a million 🙂
