Hello Shrjaffery

Do you have any problems if you make a stand alone copy? What about scanning to another computer?

Does the error appear on the computer or on the printer? If it is on the computer could you take a screenshot of the error? Also what operating system are you using and how is the printer connected?

Thanks for writing back to me, the problem is with a user at my client, cant get the screen shot now but its just giving error on the system and Windows 7 is the operating system on that PC, whereas the printing is working perfect on that system, further more the rest of users can do scanning and printing normally.

Thank you

Hello Shrjaffery

To re-verify does the "Sti Error! Video Initialize error" appear on the computer or on the printer panel?

Also have you tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor? If so did it find any problems? If not I suggest you do as it can sometimes find and resolve scanning problems. Make a note if a problem is found, as it may point towards another solution.

Is there any solution for this error!

I have the same problem.
My device is HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP
I install the device on Windows XP SP3.
When i try to scan i get error message "Sti Error! Video Initialize error"
This error is on computer screen. On device screen there is no error.

I upgraded the firmware of this device with new. I restarted the device from power cable. I reinstall DirectX, because I read somewhere that sti.dll is part of DirectX distribution. I run scandisk. I run HP Print and Scan Doctor. Hire the interesting part is that the software make one scan, without opening TWAIN window and everything is OK. And, the software results are that the scanner is working fine. On the device screen is showing that device is scanning to PC. Still no solution for this problem!!!

I try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer's software and driver, and the problem is still there!

Same printer, same error.

Note: if I scan via Windows Fax And Scanner, the scanner works OK. No error.

If I scan via third-party software (Komakode's Scan2PDF), using the flatbed scanner, no error.

When I use the ADF, the "Video Initialize Error" appears again.

I've installed last HP drivers, downloaded via HP website.

Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bits.

Hello everyone

Have any of you tried installing the software on another computer? What this can do is isolate the problem.

What video cards are you using in the computer? StoyanSt mentioned it may be related to direct X and if that is the case it may also be related to the video card or its drivers.

Also scanning with third party software or Microsoft Fax and Scan means that the problem is more than likely with the Twain driver or a component it is trying to use.

Hummm... I dont' think so.

We ALL have different hardware configurations. And we ALL have the same error.

I've tried another approach to this problem. When I configure Komacode's Scan2PDF to use the HP Twain driver (the HP preview window), the scanner does the preview correctly. But when I accept to envy the scannig to Scan2PDF, ther are different behaviours:

a) Using flatbed scanning: No errors.

b) Using ADF scanning, 1 page: No errors.

c) Using ADF scanning, multiple pages: it freezes when doing the process.

I can't blame to DirectX or the hardware config of this, can I?
