M251 color laserjet
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The printer has problems with stripes in the print. At first it looked like a toner problem now four days after the waranty has ended I found out ther was a problem with one of the guidance utilities. Is it possible to replace them without huge costs? Btw the printer has only printed about 5000 to 7500 pages.

Can you further explain this "guidance utilities" or post a pic of what you are talking about? There are only a few things that would cause this.

The toner cartridges, The transfer Belt, the fusing unit; or the formatter board, DC controller, and laser write unit which control the image formation process.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.
