OfficeJet 7510
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Just Purchased 2 New OfficeJet 7510's

Had prvious connect Officejets 4620's which were grat but cant get cartridges anylonger as not in country, with no issues with MAC.

Connected Printer as instructions, initially with Mac acknowledgement of printer then later tried HP Drivers

Connected in USB but also have wireless for airprint, all works ok.

But continually get this message when first start up or reconnect.

OS Sierra does NOT any longer provide Disk Repair Permissions.

Under Disk Utility it shows as 7510s Media Disk 3 as unknown External Disk, so I try to erase but it continually returns.

Read and read forums, followed all to disconnect etc, also turned off WiFi Direct.

The only thing I could do is disable HP Smart Install as using Print Utility or Web Embedded Service I can not find anywhere to disable as I checked every screen. I am ALL Mac so the option to connect to Windows PC is NOT an option as we dont have one.

So much for the joy of new printer as Im about to throw it away....

The only solution so far is to NOT connect USB and only via wireless with is ok but then larger prints are slower.

Any ideas !!!

Hi @Skyfox61,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to install the software for your HP OfficeJet 7510 Wide Format All-in-One Printer.

This issue has occurred because the full feature software is not available.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link to install Mac printer driver using Apple software update: Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update

For scanning, you need to install the HP Easy Scan from the link: How to Scan from the Computer (Mac)

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Did all that already, it uses the HP Drivers not Generic.

It treats it as Media Disk and just cant get rid of it.

I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.

I suggest that you reset the printing systems by following the steps in the link: Resetting the Printing System (Mac)

Let me know if this works.
