Hi there.
I've recently bought this printer. Everything is great except I can't for the life of me work out how to turn off duplexing. I believe its set to auto duplexing out of the box?
I need to print a project but the markers will only accept it in a certain format and duplexed it not acceptable.
Many thanks in advance

Hi @tbobobbins , and thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see you're experiencing duplex issues. I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first.
I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please let me know what you find. Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

Hi tbobobbins, and thanks for getting back to me!
When you open the printer dialogue box, there is an option to toggle two sided printing on and off:

I'm on Mac Mavericks 10.10.1 Can't turn off double-sided printing. There is no option in the printer box - there was yesterday, it's now gone. I've deleted the software, reinstalled it, and it still doesn;t let me turn it off.
Any suggestions?

Hi tbobobbins, thanks for the reply!
@Humphbbear, welcome to the Forums!
I'd recommend you both try the following:
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates: OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers
Good luck and please let me know how it goes!

Hi Jamieson,
Thank for your reply. Sorry, I posetd under "Envy 5530", but I actually have the Photosmart 5520 model (and on Mac mavericks 10.10.1). Here's where it gets confusing:
Printing a Final Draft (screenwriting software) document or a Preview document, up comes the print box with the option to turn off duplex printing.
Printing a Word or Excel document, a different print box opens without the option to turn off duplex printing and so - it prints both sides. Can't stop it.
Tried to delete all HP software, then downloaded latest softare. Didn't change things. Also went to System Preferences, but there was no option in the Printers and Scanners section todo what was suggested in the Apple file you linked to. So I deleted the HP printer, but again, still can't get rid of the print box that offers no 2 sided option to untick.
It's like it's just stuck on my system.
Thanks,
Humph

Hi Humph,
After reviewing your post, it appears there's a conflict occuring in the Microsoft programs installed.
You could create a preset in one of the functioning programs.
You could also contact Microsoft support:
Thanks!
