I downloded the installer and ran it.  I runs, slowly, taking about 15 minutes to instal 99% and then seems to get hung up there.  After another 5 minutes it finnly stops but then gives the error messge that it did not complete because it took too long.  I'm using an Asus laptop, Window 7, 64bit with a CPU running at 2.30 GHz.  Any suggestions, its happened twice.

Hi,

First tap the Setup icon on the printer and select Service.

Look for HP Smart Install, press OK and tap disable.

Next open Devices and Printers, if there are any exsiting HP printers such as HP Laserjet or HP Universal Printing, irght click it and select Remove Device.

Next type run into the start menu search bar and open the Run command.

Type printui.exe /s and press OK

Open the Drivers tab

Select and remove any HP printer and select Delete, be sure to select the 2nd option to delete the driver and drier pacakage, then press OK to confirm.

Now try reinstalling the printer and check for any difference.

If the same persists ensure the USB is not longer than 2 meters long and directly connected to your PC, try connecting it to another USB port at the back of the printer and try a different USB cable.

Regards,

Shlomi

I will give it a try when I get a chance.
