HP office jet pro 8715
Hi,

My printer had a paper jam and when I went to take out the paper it snagged and pulled out a flat white ribbon-like cable on the far left side of the printer next to the ink cartriges. The printer still makes noises and the scanner lights up but the touch screen area and power button do not light up/work. How do I reattach this thin cable? Just the bottom is unattached, the top is still in place. Thank you!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer and have disconnected a flat ribbon cable from inside the printer while clearing a paper. Now the printer touchscreen and the power button do not light up.

I did check the hardware specifications and found that this would require to open up the printer to reconnect the cable. We do not recommend this be done by a user. The best option to contact HP phone support to explore the service options for the printer. Otherwise, you can check with a local printer technician to get it fixed.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to ask. All the best! 🙂
