  Make sure the printer solftware is installed on your computer, and that "Scan to Computer" is enabled via the printer software.

Need assistance in fixing the Scan to PC issue on the printer. Did I get it right?

 

I was able to find an article from HP online which specifically addresses the issue and hosts several possible solutions for the issue you have described in your post.
