This error mssg drove me NUTs and wouldn't clear -- I returned that printer...just found below article that mentions it's the ScanToPCActivationApp on these HPs causing this error -- now it makes sense upon reading it.  I'm in the market for another printer - and wondering if I should give HP another chance -- the Epson I just bought is slower than molasses Epson WF 2540--I don't think I can deal with the slowness... and the print quality doesn't change from Standard to High Quality..

 

So, if anyone is still having a fight with that error mssg - go to page listed below - might help - ya never know and I'll be keeping a copy too just n case it appears again
