Printer: HP Laserjet CP1525NW
Background: Already had USB driver installed. Previously also face same problem but had used internet version to install instead.
Current : Wanted install wireless via USB cable. Had used CD to install. No other operation were operating at that time. Took about 15 mins. Managed to get to 99% completed and then error message appeared:
An install operation took too long to execute. This is a fatal error preventing product use. Please restart your computer, and run this installer again. If the problem persists, please check the product support web site for your product.
I read that i have to uninstall all the toolbar or task bar. but how do i do it?
Really need help. Thank you!

i'd recommend following this gude to uninstalling the printer software:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02259020
I'd then follow this link, choose your operating system, and download the latest drivers available through the HP site:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4052980&submit=&
If you still experience issues beyond these steps please post back
If my post helped you in any way, please click the blue KUDOS star under my name! It would mean a great deal. 🙂

I've tried everything to reinstall my HP CP1252nw Laserjet color printer. The install disk and the basic and general instll files from the HP website - but say that it is taking too long to install and quits working. I've uninstalled the printer and restarted the computer many times - have tried installing it just from the USP cable too - nothig is working. I've also turned off my firewall protection while doing an install -that hasn't worked.
I'm running Window 7 - 64gb - -
Please advise.

I finaly fix this problem in XP. The solution provide does not work. The real problem is the developers do not know how to un-install device driver in window. the develp team did not completely remove installed device. They put NULL device as imageing device.
Solution:
1. Turn on your printer. Turn on your window system. Goto device manager (part of computer manager). delete the device "HP xxxx scan null". reboot your computer. In window XP. the original device ( you first time installed device) will pick up by window. In window XP, each time you install new device, the old device does not go way. When window find new image device it will pick up what on the top of the list which wroks.
2. do not use full install. Your printer still works. For scan, you install readiris pro 12.
3. I download readiris pro 12 from web.But it is not real install. in case you still have problem. try follows.
4. The download readiris pro 12 is download manager for readiris pro 12. run it but when it ask install, do not click OK.
make a copy of install source directory. Then click on cancel. reboot machine. Install readiris pro 12 from the copy of install sourc directory.
At least my machine works now with new readiris pro 12.

I now have it working. I think this is what I did to get it working.
I deleted the older driverr mannually (the PCL one) and then ran the install program. This stopped at 99%. I then manually added the print driver by browsing for the print driver on my computer. This found the LaserJet Pro 2000 driver and installed it. I then rebooted the machine without cancelling the setup that had stopped at 99%.
When I cancelled the setup at 99% I think this then deleted the print driver I had just installed as part of the cancel. i.e. it undid my manual install.
So to get it working I mannually deleted the old printer driver, installed the new one, but did not cancel the install program which stopped at 99%.
Thanks for your help, without it I would still be stuck!

I have Windows 10. I do not know how, but I got it working. I installed, un-installed twice, removed all installs. Plugged the printer into the computer via USB, then tried to install via the control panel. It couldn't find the device, so I cancelled. Then I happened to go into devices again and saw the printer there. I tried to print a sheet and it worked and continues to work. It defies logic. My advice is, after it sits on 99% and crashes. try the printer then. If it is not working, try installing via Device Manager then try the printer again.
