What do you do if a document is more than 1 page?

Sorry that you are having a problem trying to scan more than one page.

This printer does NOT have a ADF (automatic document feeder). The ADF is a feature at the top of the printer that feeds multiple pages of copies, scans, or prints through.

You will just have to scan one page at a time with this printer.

Thanks but what I meant was can a multi page report be saved as 1 item

No. You would still need the ADF at the top. Then it would feed all of the papers through at once and then save as one.

My old Canon (not Windows8 compatible) did not have an ADF either but for the last 5 years was perfectly capable to scan multiple pages and save these in 1 file.

We simply (a) open lid, (b) add new page, (c) click on "scan" until ALL pages of one document are scanned, then click "save" and attribute the file name.

It would look utterly foolish to email one document in 25 attachments, just because the HP deskjet 2510 does not have an ADF! So how do I scan and save 25 pages  into one file?

Hey Kellega,

Are you trying to scan multiple pages into a single file with your Deskjet 2510 on Windows 8?

If so, then please take a look at the document linked here.  Select the section on "How to scan with HP software."  If you open the HP Scan software on the PC and perform a scan, then you will be able to perform this method.  You will have to have the option for displaying a preview of scanned items checked.  There is a + on the screen that will allow for the next page to be scanned.  Repeat this for as many pages as necessary.

When the scanning is done select the "Done" option at the bottom of the scan preview window.  This will compile the scanned images into a single file and allow you to save it.

Hope this helps,

Jason

I too just had this problem today, but i noticed that for some reason if you set the DPI higher than 300, you can't scan multiple pages to a single file. the DPI needs to be set 300 and lower for you to scan multiple pages to a single file. not sure why the software is set up this way but that's how it is. hopefully someone from HP sees this post and does something about this, unless there is a valid reason why documents with high resolutions can't have more than 1 page. hope this helps. also, just to make sure, when you click on the scan option, go to advanced settings, on the second tab under advanced settings there is a box that says something like: "save all new scans to individual files" or something like that. just obviously make sure that box is not ticked, otherwise not even the DPI setting will help you. 🙂
