I see that it's been a year-and-a-half since the last post on this topic. I bought my HP Officejet 8610 last night and had the same problem as the 180month-old posts: no obvious or convenient way to cancel a print. AND no sollution from HP's software since then.

Thanks, HP. I now have to needlessly buy more of your ink. Oh,my - I'm REALLY a happy customer now!

I continue to have this problem.   I have hit "x" to cancel, cut off the printer, disconnected the USB, unplugged the printer, actually uninstalled the printer from my computer.   When I connected the USB (with the printer uninstalled from my my computer) the print job started again.   I have wasted hundreds of pages of paper, untold ink and a tremendous amount of time.    It would be very nice if HP would respond to this problem.

How can I stop a print job that is coming through an email I sent myself through eprint

claireprimrose and John 738...Don't forget, there are two X's.  The first X is at the top of the LCD panel in a circle on the printer.  You must hit that one first, then a RED X appears at the bottom of the panel and you have to hit that one also.  That should stop the printer.  Then go into printer window on your computer and cancel any jobs that remain.

During the printing process, at the top of the display screen, you will see a small "x", touch on that and a larger "x" will appear in the lower left corner. touch that and the printing will stop. My older 7280 had a button on the printer to cancel. Other suggestions posted on this problem did not seem to be true. My new printer is an HP Officejet Pro 8610. hope this helps.....

And, by the way, the power button is on the left bottom front of the printer, which is the opposite of my previous 8600, where the power button was on the right bottom front. Keep faithful users in mind, HP. You ought to be glad I keep buying HP printers when, in fact, they quit working as soon as the warranty expires, and it's cheaper to buy a new one than pay to repair. Planned obsolescence.

When I stop by pressing the power button, as soon as I power on the unwanted print job starts again.

I bet I hit that red X 100 times andd the printer would just start printing over after a short lapse.  And no where on my computer can I find a cancel printing--for any of my printers.  I'm using the HP 8600 and the HP 8610 with Windows 10.  Both seemed to work fine with Windows 8.  Any solutions?

I have to agree - you have to tap the screen to "wake " it up, The Tap a dinky little x

Then Tap yet another small X

This is silly!

Make a Cancel Button !

100% agree. Seriously, I would give this printer ZERO stars based on this lack of cancel button alone!  I would also recommend a recall on this product, it's beyond annoying. How does a billion dollar corporation green light making such dumb mistakes as creating a printer with no cancel button?!!   That executive who ok'd this feature should be scrutinized.  Boggles the mind how a printer could be designed and make it to production with no cancel button.  HP, are you listening?   This is beyond lame!
