I am trying to set up my new HP OfficeJet 4650 printer but the language came up in what I believe to be french instead of english. How do I get back to default setup or just plane get back to english?

Hi @dudleydoman

I would be happy to help you with your 4650. I understand you are seeing a language other than English, likely french and would like to change it to be English. Please try the following steps and let me know if doing so resolves the issue:

  1. On the product control panel, press the Setup button. The Setup menu displays.
  2. Press the button next to the Down Arrow to select the 5th option from the top (Preferences), and then press the button next to OK.
  3. Press the button next to the Down Arrow to select the 2nd option from the top (Set Language), and then press the button next to OK.
  4. Use the arrow buttons on the right to scroll up and down through the list to find your desired language.
  5. Select the desired language, and then press the button next to Yes to confirm. The Preferences menu displays again on the product control panel.
  6. Select Country/Region, and then press OK.
  7. Select your desired Country/Region, and then press OK.
  8. Press the button next to Yes to confirm.
  9. Press the Home icon to return to the main screen.

Hi Dudleydoman,

Since you're not able to understand the language displayed on the control panel, I'm capturing some screen shots in English on the placement of the icons and selections so you know which icons/menu to select. It should be similar to whatever language you have now.

1. Screen 1 - Home screen

Screen 1.PNG

2. At home screen, slide to next page with your finger and you will see Screen 2. Touch the second icon (a Gear icon).

Screen 2.PNG

3. At screen 3, touch 1st menu on top which is actually "Preferences".

Screen 3.PNG

4. You will come to screen 4, now touch 2nd menu from the top, which is "Language".

Screen 4.PNG

5. You can select the Language that you desire.
