Hello sheesh55
You're welcome. Sorry about the confusion.
In order to scan to email you need to setup a mail client on your machine. Windows Live Mail should be the default email client on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
For the easiest time with Scan to Email I suggest setting up your gmail account info first inside the Windows Live Mail application. You can find this by using the search box in the start menu.
While Windows Live Mail opens up the first thing it usually asks for is a Live account Username and Password which you can easily skip by closing it. At that point you should see the interface that shows in the screenshot.
Once your account is added you can go back to the Scan to Email button which will look like a typical scan. After it finishes scanning and you press save and choose a file name, then it should open up Windows Live Mail and already be attached to an email. At this point you should be able to enter a destination, subject, and body and send it out.

Hello sheesh55
So you have both a gmail and a Windows Live mail account? If so you need to set the gmail account to the default.

Hello Dee4help
The following screenshots should help you to assign Windows Live Mail as the default email client.
As for the "Scan option is not setup" check out the following article. If you continue to have problems with this second question please include your printer.

Hello ann204
What printer are you using? Some printers use different software and handle scan to email differently. If you are using a Deskjet 3050A you can follow my How To: Scan to Email thread.
You can also watch this video from AOL on how to setup your AOL account through Windows Live Mail.
