Also, make sure you are not trying to plug the USB cord into the 3.0 slot (usually a blue-colored port on the PC). Try another USB port, then search Devices and Printers, click Add a Printer and when the Windows Installer pops up, click Windows Update and see if your printer appears (takes a while to load sometimes). Click here for more instructions since there is not a Windows 7 driver either.
After clicking Windows Update in the Add a Printer Wizard, if you do not see your printer, my favorite generic printer is the Deskjet 990c driver, but in my link above it suggests any Deskjet 3600 will work. I really hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Good luck! You now have three different ways to do this. I found JonW's post to be quite informative and hopefully where there is a will, there is a way. Keep me posted and I really hope you can get this to work.
