I continue to be unable to delete this document following the steps above. I receive the message that it cannot be deleted because it is open.

What kicktires posted worked for me, with one important step he didn't mention:  I had to restart my computer for everything to delete.  Once I got things out of the spooler (what it would let me) and restarted my computer, I had only one more item in the spooler to delete, and the printer began working properly.

Also, I found a way around the hp eprint thing by choosing hp Officesmart 7520 (network).  It allowed me to print wirelessly even when hp eprint wasn't working.  However, the eprint features were disabled until I followed kicktires' procedure.  I actually had to install the printer again as a "network" printer.  Oh, well--it worked.

I have a doc to be printed stuck in print. Can't print with wifi or USB.  I uninstaled the 8600 & now can't find my CD to reinstall.

it shows that it is in the process of deleting but is just sitting there.  I restarted my computer but it wont go away.

Hello-

Try these steps :

  1. First Stop the  Print Spooler. If you attempt to copy or delete any items in that folder while the Print Spooler is started, you will get an error stating that the items are in use.

If you need help stopping the spooler just tell me your Operating System.

  1. Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Usually when you get to the PRINTERS folder you will get a pop up message stating that you need administrator permission to enter the folder, and all you need to do is press Continue.
  2. There will be two items in the folder for every item in the print queue.
  3. If you are wanting to manually delete the print queue instead, you can just delete the items at that time.

There were two things but is said they were in the spool

I tried what you suggested and got an error message " it is being used by another person or program and to close any program  that might be using the program and try again."  That is what I am trying to do delete something I was printing.

Hi @dsie,

Were you able to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools

What were the results?

this is really  old and resolved, but I don't know how to mark it as resolved.  Tried 'help' and it didn't 'help'.
