envy 5530

I have envy 5530 printer. Not sure of OS. Think Windows 8. Had a 10 page document and stopped printing. Have read about this on forum. My problem is that when I went through the control panel and checked status it said deleting and is stuck. Won't let me cancel, pause, restart. I have turned the printer off and back on, no change. I've tried solutions assistant and it said out of paper which isn't true. Hope someone can help.

Hi @MsParvati,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you're unable to print because your print jobs are getting stuck in the print queue. I will certainly do my best to help you.

If you would like to confirm whether you have Windows 8 or not. This link will show you, How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

I would try the steps within these guides,  HP Printers - Print Jobs Disappear from the Print Queue and Do Not Print (Windows 😎 and HP Printers - Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue (Windows).

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! Smiley Happy

I have an Officejet Pro 8600  printer.  I am using Windows 8.1.  My printer stopped printing.   My problem is that when I went through the control panel and checked status it said deleting and is stuck.  Won't let me cancel, pause, restart.  I have turned the printer off and back on, no change.  I've put in all new ink cartridges and paper.. Hope someone can help.

Hi @CarrieDye,

Have you tried the document I suggested in my previous post?

IMPORTANT! Step 2: Delete job files and restart

Whenever a print job is sent to the printer a file is created in Windows. Sometimes these files become corrupt and cause problems. To properly reset your printing environment, delete these print job files manually and restart both the computer and the printer.
  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. If you have any work open in the software you printing from, save your work. Your current print jobs will be lost and will need to be printed again later.
  3. Search Windows for services, and click Services in the list of results.
  4. Scroll through the list of services and find the name Print Spooler.
  5. Right-click Print Spooler and select Stop.
Figure : Stop selection for Print Spooler Service
Service window the Print Spooler service selected from the Name list and the Stop selection called out.
  6. After the service has been stopped, close the service window and use Windows Explorer to browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS.
  7. Delete all files inside the PRINTERS folder.
  8. Restart your computer.
  9. Turn on your printer.
Try printing again and note what happens.
  • If the printer prints, you are done.
  • If the print job becomes stuck again, continue to the next step.
Hope this answers your question. Thank you for posting!
