How do I enable scanning from the control panel on a 6700 all in one printer.  I cannot find anywhere on the printer assistant how to enable the control panel.  I get an error message that the computer is not connected.  I can scan from the printer assistant but not from the control panel of the printer and i cannot find any access to enable scan settings.  Just upgraded to Windows 10 and this changed the settings.

Hi,

Thanks for using the forum.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

How to Scan to Computer

In order to scan from Printer to Computer, you would need to install the Full feature Printer software first.
Once you have installed the software,

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a "Manage Scan to Computer", click on that.
3. Make sure that you "Enable" the Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab "Automatically start Scan to Computer when i log on to Windows" is check if you want to have this feature permanent. (an example is shown below)

Hope that helps.

My software does not show the manage scanner to computer.  I have loaded the software multiple times and it does not come up.  That's why I cant get to that portion of the software to set up the communciation between the one touch scan on the control panel of the printer.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

Which connectivity are you using? Wireless, Lab connected or USB?

Are you able to connect your printer on nework, uninstall and reinstall the FULL feature software and see if it works?

Do you see any errors on the installation?

Thanks.

Tried all of those and it never would bring up the 2nd part of the scanner software. After a couple hours low and behold it started communicating with the control panel on printer. Working now so who knows. Thanks for the response and help.
