Hey @orville1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum. :robothappy:
I see that you're unable to print, scan or fax via Mac using your HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to help.
Have you tried plugging the printer into a different usb port on your Mac? If not, try all available usb ports to see if you get a different result. If you haven't been using the usb connection disregard this tip.
Try the following steps in sequence:
- Uninstall your printer - click here for instructions.
- Repair disk permissions on your Mac - click here for instructions.
- Once you've finished running the above-noted utility, restart your computer.
- Lastly, click here to reinstall your printer.
