This printer only accepts 4X6 paper for some reason. Where do I put 8X10 printer paper and what adjustments do I have to make to make a scanned item into a photo?

Hello @the64bige!
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I should be able to provide some help regarding your questions on loading the 8.5x10 paper and changing the settings.
You should load the 8.5x10 paper into the main tray on the printer:
For more options when scanning a document to the computer I suggest using the program called HP Scan. HP SCan comes with the HP software. If you have installed the CD for the printer then you should be able to locate HP Scan.
To open HP Scan go to the Start menu on the computer. In the Start menu type HP Scan and the computer should automatically start searching for it. HP Scan should show up as one of the first options. Select HP Scan and you should get a window like this:
You typically want to save photos as a .JPEG file type. Once you have clicked the scan button you will get a preview of the scan on the left side from there you will have more options to adjust the scan and save it!
To change paper size and type when printing from the computer I suggest checking out this document: Changing Print Settings in Windows 8 and selecting Change print settings from the Windows 8 Desktop.
Thanks again for posting on the HP forums and enjoy your day!
